Things to know

This page includes additional information about our parish, including sermons, and external links to things we think you may enjoy. It is a work in progress.

To Grow

The Reverend Arthur Gorter, who served at Saint Albans from 1909 until 1928, would ride the train from Louisville to Holy Trinity, he would spend the night with parishoners, and have services before returning to Louisville. Train fare back and forth was paid with money he obtained by selling chickens, eggs, etc., which were given to him by the congregation.
In 1916 the church was moved from Garnettsville to Grahamton. Holy Trinity Memorial Chapel was built there in 1930. Rev. Werner F. Rennenberg, Secretary of the Diocese, Rector or the Church of the Redeemer, Louisville, took charge of the work in 1928.

To Show

In 1941 the federal government purchased the building at Grahamton in the Fort Knox expansion program. The building was moved and became Godman Chapel. For the next 15 years the congregation worshipped in the home of Mr and Mrs Joe Allen in the Woodland community and later in the Cedar Grove Methodist Church.

The present church was built on ground donated by Olin Mathieson Chemical Corp. and was dedicated on October 14, 1956.
